Arizona National Monuments

INTRODUCTION

Arizona's 18 national monuments provide a rich learning environment for students of all ages. While it would be wonderful if students could take a field trip to each of the monuments, distance, resources and time make this an unlikely prospect. This collection of virtual tours provides a glimpse of the living "curriculum" offered at each of the monuments so students can at least have a virtual field trip.

Each tour includes a brief video clip about the monument, study questions, web resources and learning activities.

To view Monumental Arizona on KAET tune in on March 9 - visit the KAET web site for complete details.

A high quality DVD and VHS tape of the program and an informative web site are available from KAET. The DVD will make an excellent resource for teaching about Arizona.

The field trips are works in progress and we encourage content development and contributions by students and teachers. If you are interested in working on this project please contact us.

All of the video clips for the field trips are in the QuickTime format. Quicktime provides high quality video that can be viewed with the free cross-platform QuickTime player. A high speed Internet connection is recommended to view the video.
